Arnica's historic use is in cases of physical shock to the nervous system such as a tooth extraction, broken bones, headaches, blows to the head, sprains, and physical shock to the nervous system (due to bosses, the stock market, raising children, rush hour traffic, etc.). For external application, simply apply the extract directly to the area or for a more serious injury, dip cotton or gauze in the extract and wrap it around the affected area. Cover this plastic sandwich wrap and hold in place with a bandage. Change the dressing once a day to allow the area to dry before reapplying the dressing. If the skin is sensitive, then apply Vitamin E oil prior to the dressing; wash the area between dressings. Be sure to discard old dressing and never reuse. CAUTION: For mostly external use only.
